#1 Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturising Foundation First read about this in a magazine article about beauty products that women couldn’t live without. A writer plagued by the difficulty of finding a foundation capable of warming up her pale British skin without making it look yellow had been recommended Bobbi Brown’s Luminous Moisturising Foundation and forever onwards swore by it. As do I now, thanks to its perfect marriage of sheer coverage and natural warmth.
#2 Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiance A complete fluke of a beauty find. Bought it by accident thinking it was the original Foundation Primer then discovered it adds an ever so subtle sheen to the skin to create a dewy, more youthful looking finish.
#3 Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Bronze Another magazine article, another recommendation – this time by a fresh-faced celebrity who stated that every time she wore Bobbi Brown’s shimmer brick make up artists would comment on how good her skin looked. One shimmer brick and several compliments from my own friends later, I was sold. Now, my make up doesn’t feel complete without it.
#4 Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Rose So good I bought it twice – this time in the more pinky toned Rose for Spring and Winter when there’s no hint of a natural tan. Top tip: sweep lightly over Bobbi’s Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks and watch your skin positively glow.
#5 Tangle Teezer Where has this little invention been all my life? A neon hedgehog looking thing it may be, but it’s also an absolute Godsend for long hair prone to tangling, or worse tearing, when combed. Simply wash your hair, towel dry then run the tangle teezer through it for no more tangles and no more pain.
#6 Origins Plantscription Anti-aging Eye Treatment You don’t know you’re wearing it but you do, if that makes sense. It’s neither heavy nor sticky so you wouldn’t consciously know you were wearing it other than when you look in the mirror and your eyes look less tired and your laughter lines less pronounced.
#7 Liz Earle Botanical Shine Shampoo and Conditioner First tried this gorgeous smelling duo at the start of this year and loved how silky soft and shiny they made my brunette hair. Then made the decision to go blonde (ish) and switched to a shampoo for colour treated hair until reading a tweet about how soft and smooth someone else’s hair was all thanks to her Liz Earle and I promptly switched back again. Next on my Christmas wish list to try is Liz Earle’s Botanical Shine Treatment!
#8 Schwarzkopf Oil Miracle Finishing Treatment Nectar in a bottle for hair that’s as overly processed as mine having made the move from natural brunette to blonde. After complaining to my hairdresser about dry, overly processed ends, she used a tiny five pence piece sized amount of this magic oil on the tips of my hair before blow drying and it was noticeably softer and smoother. Sold!
#9 Bobbie Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in Taupe A newbie to the make up bag but already a favourite for adding a touch of magic and sparkle to your eye make up at this time of year. Simply dab over your evening eyeshadow and instantly feel more glam.
#10 Origins Drink Up Intensive Possibly THE single best beauty find of the year that makes such a difference to my stressed, parched and dare I say aging skin that I’ve been buying it as a present for friends ever since. Even the other half commented on the telltale difference it made to his skin after trying it out for himself one particularly punishing week. Cleanse, tone then apply the gorgeous smelling cream before bed and wake up to noticeably healthier looking skin. All for just £20 a tube.
